Elder S. B. D. Famolu

SBD, as he is popularly called was born and bred in Isanlu, the Local Government headquarters of Yagba East, Kogi State to the family of late Chief and Mrs. SGB Famolu. In his formative age, he was loved by everybody because of his disposition to virtually everyone that comes his way, always smiling and humble to a fault. He had his kindergarten education (Jelesinmi) at African Church, Itedo-oba, Isanlu before he proceeded to Saint Joseph’s Primary School.

He started his Secondary school at St. Kizito’s College, Isanlu, before he transferred to Government Secondary School, Omu-Aran, Irepodun LGA of Kwara State and finally Okene Secondary School, Ukpogo, Okene.

After his secondary school education, he proceeded to the famous Kwara State College of Technology, Ilorin for his Higher School education and the premier University in Nigeria – University of Ibadan. After his university programme, he was posted to the then Sokoto state for his Youth service. He specifically served in Bunza in the present Kebbi State.

He took up teaching appointment with the Kogi State Teaching Service Commission and was posted to ACSS, Amuro as a classroom teacher and counsellor, for thirteen years before he transferred his service to the Ministry of water resources and later the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.

He became the acting Head of Administration after the retirement of the pioneer HOD in 2016, after which the appointment was confirmed by the Honourable Minister of State for Health in March 2017.
