Hospital Structure
There are 33 Clinical Service departments and Units under the directorate of the Clinical Services. There are 13 Administrative/Finance/Works and Services department/Units under the Directorate of the Administration.
Like any other Federal Parastatal the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja has a Board of Management with a part-time chairman. The Board is statutorily charged with the general policy formulation and governance of the Centre while the Federal Ministry of Health is the supervisory Ministry of the Board and the Centre.
On the other hand, the Centre has a Medical Director who is the Chief Executive Officer responsible for the day-to-day running of the affairs of the Centre. He is accountable to the Board and the Federal Ministry of Health. The Centre has a Top Management Committee which meets fortnightly to review and make amends, where necessary, in the activities of the Centre.
